Welcome to:
Angels In Disguise (AID) Homecare
Our ethos is “Providing Holistic Care.”
AID Homecare is led by a registered nurse with over 25 years of experience working in the health and care sector. She commenced at just sixteen working behind the scenes in the kitchen of a hospital, and within a year, she was working in the operating theatres. As her passion grew, she achieved a Distinction at college in BTEC National Diploma in Health Sciences and was fortunate to be allocated a prestigious place at The University of Birmingham Medical School to study for a Bachelor in Nursing Degree. It was whilst studying that she was employed by a local homecare agency, and she has never forgotten those years and experience and clients.
She went on to have a fabulous career in the Intensive Care Unit, Complex Care, Palliative care, and end-of-life care. She enjoys caring for her uncle, who has Parkinson's, and says that he has a "wicked sense of humour!"
During COVID-19, she was the Strategic Lead in Palliative and EoL Care across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The role sat across Health and Social care. It was a highly stressful time, given the predicted deaths we were forecasted. Thankfully, as a rural community, which is usually the hardship of living in the southwest of the UK, it was a blessing during the pandemic. She has also completed Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
Between 2019 - and 2021, her mother was admitted to the hospital and, on discharge, required a package of care. Unfortunately, she lived 300 miles away, so a homecare agency was appointed. The carers that were provided were appalling and treated her mother with no dignity or respect. Despite raising safeguarding issues, attitudes were rude, and they lacked the knowledge and skills to support a person as complex as her mum. That's when she intervened and stepped in and took over caring for her mother until the day she passed away.
She decided to make a change. She decided to commence her own homecare agency because she was totally disillusioned with the care sector as a whole and felt that care workers and service users should be treated better and respected as people. She thinks that society has forgotten how to care for another person, empathy and kindness. She wants every CAREr to CARE about the client, and in doing so, we get to know their needs better, and we are in a much better place to support everything holistically and to "Bridge the Gaps" that they may have in health and social care services.
Whilst Angels In Disguise (AID) Homecare is a relatively new homecare agency in 2025, she, in fact, first created it in 2003-2005 as a non-CQC registered care agency. Today, whilst we await our Care Quality Commission registration, we continue to provide non-regulatory activities.
She has worked tirelessly to rebuild the business and become regulated. Her reward was and still is knowing that their service users are treated with the utmost respect and dignity and are receiving the highest-quality care Angels In Disguise Homecare Ltd can give.
We have an open recruitment process and welcome anyone to apply for a job with us anytime. We have positions for bank staff, temporary staff, permanent staff, full-time, part-time, weekend-only work, and morning and lunch or tea and bed runs available.
We provide care and support to individuals over the age of 18 living in their own homes. We provide personal care, medication prompting, well-being calls, fluid and nutrition, chaperoning, companionship, dementia care, respite care, waking and sleeping night sits, light domestic duties and shopping, and hospital appointment chaperones. See the "Services" tab for more details and prices.
We are passionate about what we do. We treat service users and care workers as people. We care. Simple.
We want to inform people that we may not be a big company, but we are known locally as one of the most caring and supportive.
We can provide service users with high-quality bespoke support that fully meets their needs and requirements while ensuring they are at the heart of every decision made.
